Plastic Section - New Video on blackonthecanvas.com

Here's a post I wrote for the blackonthecanvas.com music blog. It's about a new video from some friends of mine in Bangkok: the awesome, Plastic Section. They have a new album out as of today. I will be reviewing it shortly, and should be interviewing the band to find out what makes them tick.

ARRRRRGH! Freakin' awesome band.

This band are incredible. I have to share them with you all. Their song, What You Want, is driving me wild right now.
The singer has such an amazing voice. She has a bit of a Janis Joplin tone, I dare say. I have to move to the US of A right now, so that I can get to one of their gigs.
So, I just messaged the band, and Kyle got back to me pronto saying they have a new 7 inch out in the Spring. Watch this space for more info. I can't wait to hear it.

Cowtown - Castle Greyscale

Cowtown are a three piece post-punk rock outfit hailing from Leeds in the North of England. Although Leeds has a terrible footy team, it does have a healthy band scene. Notable Supporters of Cowtown include Leeds psych-rockers, Hookworms.

This tune has a very catchy synthesised bassline, energetic and spacious guitars, and a powerful bridge to really getting the chicken necks noddin'.

Pennycress - queer punks from Glasgow.

Awesome punk from Glaswegian queer rockers, Pennycress. Much of this energy fueled album is straight-up, fast paced punk rock, interspersed with some poppy garage rock numbers. Loving it.

Free Download available on their site.

Or link them on The Book of Face.
